Zuru CEO, Nick Mowbray, has been awarded the New Zealand EY Entrepreneur of The Year award for 2018.
This is the second time the 33 year old has been recognised by EY, after he also took out the New Zealand Young Entrepreneur of the Year award earlier this year. This is the first time in the history of the awards that the Young Entrepreneur has also taken out the New Zealand award.
Despite bagging two awards, Mowbray said that Zuru's success comes from a team effort.
“Although I’m honoured to have won the award, much of our success has been down to our people.
“Our team is full of vibrant, intelligent individuals with a passion for doing things better and disrupting the world around them. We greatly value each and everyone one of our team.”
Since its inception in 2004, Zuru has gone on to become of the world's top 10 toy companies, producing over 400,000 toys a day. The business has over 5000 staff working across the globe, supplying retailers in over 120 countries.
Known for popular toy brands such as Bunch O Balloons, Robo Alive, X-shot and Fidget Cube, Zuru has most recently expanded into fast-moving consumer goods developing products in the nappy, pet food, vitamin and razor industries.
Mowbray will now represent New Zealand at the 2019 EY World Entrepreneur Of The Year awards in Monte Carlo.
