The gnomes that grin at us when we open Two Peas in a Pod signal a landscape comprising Aussie beaches and suburbs; even the kitchen ghost wears thongs. Chris McKimmie has written a testament to friendship. Marvellous (aka Marvin) and Violet are the two peas, and let us not forget T-Rex the chook, friend of Violet's bitzer, Wolf. Neighbours since the time of the dinosaurs, these four are parted when Violet moves to Perth. Of course, the bonds of friendship are reaffirmed because Marvellous visits her. On the last page we learn that T-Rex has laid three eggs. Marvellous! Kids from five to ten will be charmed.
