Australian toy retailer, Toymate, is set to open Western Australia's largest toy store, in the ex-Toys R Us Joondalup site in May.
The 2000sm experiential retail store will feature a designated parents room, a play area with trampolines, ball pits and a cinema room, as well as thousands of products from toy suppliers.
Toymate has also re-hired 20 former Joondalup Toys R Us staff, promoting casual workers to second in charge and manager positions within the new store.
Founder and CEO of Toymate, Danny Bloom, said that the store is one of Toymate's biggest achievements.
"We cannot wait to open another store in WA and want to celebrate with the community by throwing a huge launch with giveaways and family fun that is open to the public.
"We are an experienced based store focusing on providing a magical shopping experience that not only encompasses an exceptional toy offering, but a colourful world for children to lose themselves in.
"The Joondalup store has been designed for families and children to shop, play and enjoy our in-store events and activities.
"We are committed to delivering an entertaining shopping experience for customers, on top of providing top quality toys at competitive prices points," he said.
In celebration of the store, Toymate is holding a two-day grand opening, which will include free events including a Mother's Day Crayola craft activity zone, face-painting, balloon art, a live children's entertainer and a disco party. The store will also offer kids the chance to meet and greet Disney characters, while parents will have the opportunity to win prizes from brands such as Vuly, Razor and Disney.
2019 looks to be a year of expansion for the Toymate business, with Melbourne, Queensland and Tasmania also on the cards for potential new store openings.
The Joondalup store will open on 11 May.
