Spielwarenmesse eG, the organisers of the world's biggest toy fair, Spielwarenmesse, have carried out the annual toy donation campaign, donating toys to institutions across Germany.
Approximately 800 exhibitors from this year's Spielwarenmesse donated their toys to the cause, ranging from plush to board games to electronic toys, filling up over 30 Euro pallets which were sent to welfare organisations in and around Nuremburg as well as SOS Children's Villages across Germany.
Eight organisations and charities around Nuremburg were selected to receive the toys, one of which was day nursery Sternenhimmel, which received the gifts in an official presentation from CEO of Spielwarenmesse eG, Ernst Kick and the Spielwarenmesse mascot, Teena.
Kick, said that the campaign is very important to the organisers, as well as the wider Nuremburg community.
"The donation campaign is a matter that is very close to the hearts of our team and our exhibitors. The toys bring moments of joy to many children across Germany and in the local vicinity," he said.
Exhibitors at next year's Spielwarenmesse will again have the opportunity to donate their toys to the campaign. The toys were donated on 21 May.
