Oz Comic-Con is set to bring a pop-up community-based event to Sydney, showcasing the local pop-culture scene.
The OCC Pop Up will take place at the Sydney Showground on the 6th and 7th of March and is the organisation's first live event for the year.
"Since its Australian launch back in 2012, OCC has secured a permanent place within the hearts of fans across the country through its ongoing support of the local community," OCC said in a statement.
"Although things may seem a little different this time around, OCC Pop Up will encompass everything we have come to love and know over the years.
"With a jam-packed schedule full of workshops and activities, attendees can expect appearances from local creators, comic artists, gaming and freeplay opportunities, industry talks and panels and exclusive merchandise that can’t be found anywhere else," the organisation said.
Highlights in the program include a Creators Live area dedicated to promoting Australian digital content creators such as
YouTubers, streamers, podcasters, bloggers, and influencers.
Cosplay Active is also a key event on the schedule at the Pop Up, with cosplayers invited to showcase crafting talents, perform a skit and even get their pets involved, with the finalists of the OCC Pet Cosplay listed to attend.
The first-of-its-kind event will be open to Aussie fans of all ages and will have a cap on tickets to ensure COVID safety, among other safety measures.
