Oodles of Doodles at Axis

09 Mar 2012

There isn’t much from the '70s that has stood the test of time or had a welcome revival, but the iconic DoodleArt that celebrated its 40th birthday in January has, and soon we’ll all be ‘Doing our own thing in colour’ thanks to Axis Brokerage and Trading’s latest addition to their portfolio.

Last year Canadian business partners Andrew Perkins and Michael McLennan acquired DoodleArt and are intent on reviving this classic arts and crafts colouring-in IP for a new generation.

What began as Ecology, a drawing that Len Masse, broke art student, made as a gift for his mother, was soon transformed into a multi-million selling past-time for kids and grown-ups everywhere.

DoodleArt’s popularity owes much to its innate graphic appeal and the simple idea of selling the posters pre-packaged in a tube with a packet of felt-tip pens; a solution the company’s new owners have no intention of changing.

All posters are printed on 10 per cent recycled FSI-certified 100gsm poster paper and all packs include 12 dual-tip, chisel and fine-point non-toxic washable markers.
