Model Engines launch Holden Heroes

03 Apr 2012

Model Engines is gearing up for the release of the new collectable model car range Holden Heroes produced under licence from Holden Australia.

The centrepiece of the new line will be the Holden EFIJY concept car that set hot rod hearts racing in 2005.

Holden built the EFIJY to showcase the talent and technical expertise of the local design team to the rest of the world. It went on to win international accolades and US Hot Rod magazine named it 2007 Hot Rod of the Year.

The Holden Heroes models will be made at 1:10 scale and will be available in both electric and nitro versions.

The first release will include the Peter Brock Torana A9X race car, the 2012 HRT race car and a Holden Coupe 60.

Model Engines will also produce a special electric only Holden SS Ute version with the brushless motor mounted like a ‘Roots Super Charger’ poking through the bonnet on a GVE drift chassis.

The new line, which was unveiled at Toy Fair, will be supported by an extensive TV campaign and the EFIJY will launch in June, with the other models available in Q3.
