Makedo wins Dr Toy's Best Green Toy award
Local success story Makedo has won Dr Toy’s 2012 Best Green Toy award with its Makedo Find & Make Shop kit.
This is the company’s second US award win this year after previously taking home the US Parenting Best in Play Award in February.
The Makedo project kits are designed to encourage open-ended creativity and play, and the Find and Make shop kit allows children to build, and later play with their own shop.
“Children gain satisfaction from the process of building their own shop; the enjoyment continues when they play in it in the days, weeks or months after or when they pull it apart to make a different shop,” said Makedo inventor and founder Paul Justin.
“We are thrilled that our product is getting recognition for making environmental education creative and fun,” he said.
