Australian toy retailer Toymate has revealed its newest concept store in Loganholme Queensland.

Located at the Hyperdome, the new concept store was officially opened on 03 November and stands at 2,500sqm.

On opening, the store was stocked with over 12,000 toys ready for purchase.

However, it's not the toy offering that makes this store Toymate's best and brightest.

The concept store houses – in what the business is calling an Australian first for a toy store – a children's play area, a movie room, a learning and education space, a refreshment area including Yogur-Berry, confectionery and coffee, a parents room and an arcade area for older children.

Toymate CEO Danny Bloom said that the store caters for both parents and kids and provides families with an interactive shopping experience.

"We are constantly on an innovation mission to provide a unique shopping and play experience for children and parents. We want to do things differently; we are more than just a retail outlet.

"We understand the important role toys play in a child’s life. Nothing compares to that feeling when your little ones are given a present for doing well in school or the excitement they share when unwrapping their birthday presents.

"We really understand the love a child shares with their toys.

"Therefore, the future of retail is entertainment and experience shopping. We are bringing toys to life with interactive store experiences.

"We want children to walk in and just get lost with excitement and enjoyment throughout every step of the shop.

"We also understand that parents love a child friendly space for refreshments, so we are incorporating that as well.

"Children will be able to truly engage with the brands that they love combined with a space for parents to relax while their children engage in interactive play.

"The new education space blends learning and play together. Toymate is currently planning its education program schedule and the education space will also be used by local mothers' groups and community groups to meet in a private and safe space," he said.

The Loganholme store is Toymate's third location in Queensland.

The retailer is also set to open its first store in Canberra at Majura Park Shopping Centre before Christmas this year.
