Kmart Group will follow in the footsteps of its parent company Wesfarmers to ensure its team members will not be financially disadvantaged during the fallout of COVID-19.
In a statement provided to Toy & Hobby Retailer, a Kmart Group spokesperson said that teams across Kmart, Target and Catch have been informed of the policy.
"We have informed our teams across Kmart, Target and Catch that we will ensure anyone who is impacted by coronavirus will not be disadvantaged financially.
"In the case of casual team members this means anyone who is unable to work due to the virus, will be paid for the shifts they would have worked.
"For permanent team members who don’t have any remaining personal/carers leave, we will also cover the two weeks additional leave as required."
