Hunter Products has been named the Australia and New Zealand master toy distributor for Among Us. 

The now wildly popular game burst onto the scene in 2020 - helping to ease some lockdown woes - becoming the most downloaded game of the year, clocking up more than 264 million downloads.

Produced by Innersloth, Among Us was launched in 2018, but hit its stride in 2020, with half a billion unique players jumping on in November alone. 

Partnering with UK business Toikido - which landed the master toy deal for Among Us - Hunter Products is set to bring action figures, collectables, plush, playsets, RC and more to Australian shelves this year. 

Speaking on the deal, Hunter Products GM James Hunter said that the business is thrilled to welcome Among Us to its portfolio.

"Judging by the hype around this game worldwide, we predict Among Us to be one of the hottest brands of 2021.

"We are delighted to partner with Darran and his team. Brands like this don’t come around often," he said. 

And Hunter's prediction is not far off the mark, with 2021 set to be another big year for the game. 

Innersloth is set to add new levels and new spaceship to the existing game, while a launch onto Xbox is also on the cards too.

The game - which sees teams aim to complete tasks and identify imposters before the imposters sabotage their tasks or kill them - has also generated a wide base of fans across platforms outside the game. 

There have been 124 million hours of Among Us game play streamed on Twitch and over four billion views of Among Us videos on YouTube (September). 

CEO of Toikido, Darran Garnham praised the deal with Hunter Products. 

"I am really pleased to be with the Hunter team again.

"Their experience and passion for Among Us made them the perfect distribution partner for Toikido in Australasia," he said. 

Among Us products are scheduled to be available in Australia from June this year.
