The Fusion Agency has acquired the Australia and New Zealand licensing and merchandising rights for Season One of hit animated television series Yo-Kai Watch from Dentsu Entertainment USA.

The Yo-Kai Watch TV series follows the adventures of a young boy, who thanks to a special watch, discovers and summons the mysterious Yo-kai to help him solve daily problems – usually caused by other trouble-making Yo-kai. With an imaginative plot, great characters, comedy and adventure, Yo-Kai Watch has become one of the most popular franchises of all time in Japan.

The original concept was created by renowned Japanese game company Level-5, and the Nintendo 3DS video games, which have sold 7.2 million units in Japan, have collaborated on the animated television series with TV Tokyo Corporation. The Yo-Kai Watch franchise has enjoyed tremendous success across several product categories, selling millions of copies of Yo-Kai Watch manga and related books, and generating hundreds of millions of dollars at retail of toys and other merchandise not including games, music CDs, and publishing.

Dentsu Entertainment USA and Fusion Agency are looking to emulate the Japanese success of the animated series in Australia and New Zealand, and have opened negotiations with local broadcasters and Home Entertainment partners.
