Entries for the Australian Toy Association's Rising Star Award close THIS FRIDAY, on 27 November. 

Toy & Hobby Retailer is proud to once again be supporting the award in 2021, which recognises outstanding performers in the industry who are under 40.

This award is open to the industry as a whole and all finalists will be profiled in the bumper Toy Fair Edition of the magazine, with the winner announced at the digital awards stream. 

The finalists for the Rising Star Award will be judged independently on; culture/colleague empathy; teamwork; financial performance; ambition; standing in industry; and, innovation/initiative.

In 2020 Bensons Trading's Samantha Atkinson took out the coveted award.

Described by her colleagues as a visionary, Atkinson came out on top against finalists from Warner Bros., Vuly, Moose and My Creative Box.

"Samantha has a kind nature and infectious sense of humour that brings her colleagues together," Bensons Trading said of her.

"’Visionary’ best describes Samantha - whether it be for product development or new business opportunities.

"Samantha has a unique ability to change direction in the blink of an eye, moving from marketing, to sales to product development, to financials, to licensing.

"Then in her spare time managing the operations at the Royal Agricultural Shows in five capital cities throughout the course of the year," Bensons said.
