Educational Experience's (Edex) parent company Winc has announced that it will cease to operate the Edex business by the end of May 2020.
As part of Winc's ongoing transformation the Edex business will be exited as Winc streamlines and consolidates its offer in education under one brand – Winc.
Edex will not continue as a stand alone business.
In a statement to Toy & Hobby Retailer, a Winc spokesperson thanked the Edex team and its customers.
"We would like to take this opportunity to thank our valued Educational Experience team members who have worked so hard for their customers and for the business.
"To our valued Educational Experience customers, many of whom are also Winc customers, thank you for your support.
"We look forward to continuing to assist you with your early learning needs through Winc."
Winc confirmed to Toy & Hobby Retailer that Edex will not exhibit at the Melbourne Toy Fair and its stand space has been converted into a meeting area.
ATA executive manager Alice Sanderson said that the Edex team worked with the ATA to find a solution for the space.
"A long-time member and exhibitor, Educational Experience didn’t want to put the ATA or Toy Fair in the position of having to fill that space and understood the position this put us in with the Fair just around the corner.
"Given this unexpected news was out of their control and received at the last moment, the team wanted to assist the ATA and Toy Fair by placing a lounge in the space that would have been taken by their stall. A very honourable gesture.
"We at ATA, including the Board, wish the Educational Experience management and staff all the best for the future," she said.
