Educational Colours to distribute Makedo

19 Jun 2012

Arts and crafts specialist, Educational Colours, has been appointed to take over the Australian distribution of hit recycled-crafts kit Makedo.

Under the terms of the new agreement, which will be in effect from 2 July, Educational Colours will take over the handling of Makedo’s retail and education-customer distribution.

This move allows Makedo more room to concentrate on growing the business from the solid foundation the company has established in both the local and international markets.

Makedo managing director Paul Justin describes the agreement with Educational Colours as “synergistic”.

“Our former distributor, Tiger Tribe, had done a fantastic job supporting our specialty retail and education customers through the early stages of our business. But as we look to broaden our footprint in the market and Tiger Tribe continues to focus on their target age group of 0-6 years, the decision to move on was logical and agreeable on both sides,” he said.

“Makedo and Educational Colours share a strong alignment in values. We both have a focus on bringing to market quality, education-based products that nurture creativity. This shared focus, together with Educational Colours’ years of experience and expertise as a distributor will no doubt benefit our trade customers,” said Justin.

“There is no doubt that Makedo is at the forefront of innovation and
design. Educational Colours is both excited and honoured to be working
with the Makedo team and their great range,” said Educational Colours’ CEO Michael Young.

Planning for a new campaign to drive retail sales in the lead up to Christmas is underway and will target media through various PR led strategies.
