Cody Simpson wins at US KCA
Local teen singing sensation Cody Simpson was voted Favourite Aussie Superstar by the kids of Australia beating fellow nominees model Miranda Kerr and action heroes Hugh Jackman and Chris Hemsworth at the 25th annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards held in LA.
“It is such an honour to have won this award tonight, l can’t believe l’ve won three Nick blimps in five years. This also goes to my fellow nominees, who have been some of Australia’s biggest icons since I was a kid,” said Simpson.
Simpson was presented with his orange blimp in by local comedy duo Luke and Wyatt and later returned to the stage alongside Jennette McCurdy to introduce debut KCA performer Katy Perry.
American First Lady Michelle Obama presented singer/songwriter Taylor Swift with the 2012 Big Help Award in recognition of her extensive philanthropic endeavours, including her work with tornado and flood survivors in the United States.
