The Toy Association has announced that the China Pavilion at the upcoming New York Toy Fair has been cancelled following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus.

The Association, in consultation with the China Toy & Juvenile Product Association who organise the China Pavilion at the show, came to the decision together.

Show attendees coming from China will also be subject to the US travel ban, which sees temporary denial of entry to foreign nationals who visited China in the 14 days prior to their arrival to the United States.

In a statement the Association said it is maintaining contact with authorities to stay informed on the situation.

"Toy Fair is actively monitoring all developments to ensure the safety of its exhibitors and attendees.

"The Toy Association, producer of Toy Fair New York, continues to coordinate with the City of New York, the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, and federal and state authorities to provide the latest updates.

"Toy Fair New York (Feb. 22-25) will be open for business as usual.

"All policies regarding exhibiting and attending remain as described in existing show materials," it said.

The announcement was made on 04 February.
