Big Balloon has celebrated its 10 year anniversary by appointing Chris Loverso as its new managing director. 

Co-founding the business, Loverso has worked as Big Balloon's director of sales and marketing for over 10 years, helping to launch key brands such as Ty Beanie Boos, Pokémon, Peppa Pig, Fireman Sam, Cabbage Patch Kids and Micro Machines to the local market. 

Most recently, the business welcomed CraZart to its product portfolio, while in 2021 it will launch brands such as Cocomelon, Spidey & Friends and Nickelodeon Slime.

Loverso will succeed Tony Oates in the MD position and will officially begin his role on January 01 2021. 

"Big Balloon achieved the milestone of its 10-year anniversary in 2020," the business said in a statement.

"In a year that has been difficult the world over, the company has maintained a position of strength within the Australian toy industry.

"Big Balloon is looking forward to 2021 and wishes Chris well in his new role, guiding the business through the next 10 years and beyond," Big Balloon said. 

Loverso has also taken up a director-nominated position on the ATA Board this year.
