Australian toy distributor Axis Toys has introduced a new environmentally-friendly, Australian brand to the industry. 

The new brand In-Wood has been created by Lou Trevitt and Archie Morris in collaboration with Axis Toys and is backed by environmental initiative OneStreet. 

Made using Australian FSC Certified blue and spotted gum which has been aged for over two years, the brand launched with stacking stones in natural wood and natural dye colours, a Mandala puzzle, Chakra and natural pyramids and mindful spindles. 

The packaging of In-Wood products has also been considered, with the packaging being fully recyclable and re-useable. Each pack also comes with a seed paper so customers can give back to the earth. 

Creators Trevitt and Morris said that the range has been designed to encourage mindful play.

"The philosophy behind the designs is all about going in-wood.

"This range has been created with a mindful approach to play and connecting into our intention and our wellbeing.

"Whether [that's] appealing to the child’s focus or their emotional state and communicative understanding," they said. 

OneStreet chief thinker and co-founder Annette Davison said that the range aligns perfectly with the body's guiding values. 

"OneStreet has been privileged to have been included on the In-Wood journey and we look forward to seeing the growth of this wonderful Axis Toys’ product range.

"[We have] a simple mission – to help reconnect people at the individual, community and environmental level.

"We have three principles: be kind to yourself, be kind to your community and be kind to your environment.

"OneStreet is very proud to support Axis Toys’ In-Wood range, as it fits perfectly with OneStreet’s principles," she said. 

The range officially launched on 03 August.
