The Australian Toy Association (ATA) announced its new board at its Annual General Meeting on 21 November.
Jonathan Zimbler will replace outgoing president, Andrew Skinner, who served two years in the role.
Zimbler has extensive experience in the toy industry garnered from his 50 years in the Zimbler family toy business.
The ATA said that Zimbler's enthusiasm for the toy industry will prove to be vital in the president's role.
“[Jonathan's] passion for the industry is unquestioned and we are certain [he] will make an extremely positive impact as president.”
Scott O'Rafferty from KB Sales/Australian Toy Distributors was elected as a new ATA director, while David Hendy from Headstart International, stepped down from the ATA board after seven years in the role.
Hendy has previously served as the president from 2011-2014 and is also in the ATA Hall of Fame.
Outgoing president Skinner, said that Hendy's support of the board has been of great value.
“David ha[s] given tireless support to successive presidents including [myself] and he has also championed the high level ATA membership of ICTI and ACTI.
“Hendy ha[s] confirmed that he will always be available as a sounding board whenever called upon.”
