The Global Licensing Group has announced that the Licensing Leadership Summit is now a virtual event that will take place as part of the Festival of Licensing. 

The event, which was supposed to take place in November in New York, will now form part of the Festival of Licensing and will take place from 28-29th of October. 

The Summit brings together C-level executives from some of the world’s largest players across manufacturing, retail and brands to discuss, debate and collaborate on the future of brand licensing.

Announcing its first speakers, the event will allow attendees to hear a range of discussions on topics such as TikTok, eSports and gaming.  

Some key speakers include;'s - the company behind Ryan's World - CRO Stone Newman and Ryan's World dad Shion Kaji take to the virtual stage to discuss influencers in the licensing space; Funko senior manager brand and licensing Lauren Winarski on using the 'fan' to expand distribution; and, Zynga SVP and head of corporate strategy, M&A and business development Chris Petrovic on how games "ate the licensing world." 

VP of Global Licensing Group (GLG) Anna Knight said that the event will provide attendees the opportunity to explore a range of topics that will shape a post-COVID industry. 

"The Licensing Leadership Summit will bring together leaders and decision makers from around the world with the experience, expertise and influence to shape the future of the industry.

"They will analyse the huge, world-changing events of 2020 including, of course, the impact of COVID-19, and draw on key learnings from the previous three weeks of Festival of Licensing to drive strategic direction for this sector in 2021.

"It is an unmissable two-day event for all senior leaders working directly or indirectly with the licensing industry to play a critical role in ensuring this sector is fighting fit for a future beyond the pandemic," she said. 

GLG event and content director Amanda Cioletti added that taking the event online makes the content more diverse.
