The organisers of Brand Licensing Europe (BLE), UBM, have declared this year's BLE the “best ever,” after the show witnessed retailer visitor numbers increase significantly.

 

This year's retailer visitor numbers increased by 24 per cent while the overall attendee numbers rose by six per cent to 7,862. The show also saw a 40 per cent increase in international visitors.

 

Exhibitor numbers were also up from 244 in 2017 to 264 in 2018, with 67 of those companies being new exhibitors. Brand and lifestyle exhibitors made their presence known at this years show, increasing by 28 per cent.

 

Brand director at BLE, Anna Knight, said that the show was action-packed everyday.

 

“This year’s BLE was extraordinary. We brought the show onto one level at Olympia for the first time, and every corner of it was busy from doors open to close (and beyond).

 

“There wasn’t a single lull in activity, attendance or buzz for the entire three days. Thousands of meetings were held; our seminar program and Live Kitchen demos were extremely successful; and, exhibitors proclaimed it, ‘their best BLE ever.’”

 

The action doesn't stop either, with Knight saying that planning for next year's BLE is already under way.

 

“Over 85 per cent of next year's floorplan is already full. The hard work has already started on developing live experiences that will meet our attendees’ high expectations following this year’s success, and we are really excited about working with our customers to further elevate BLE at its new home in East London.”

 

BLE took place in London from 09-11 October and will return in early October 2019.
