PopJam, the leading kid-safe and Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)-compliant social content platform, has launched in Australia.

Since its debut in the UK, the US, and now available in Ireland and Canada, TotallyAwesome's platform has grown to become the pre-eminent forum for hundreds of brands and content owners to safely engage with the under-13 audience as a kid-safe alternative to Facebook and Instagram.

Given the rapid growth children's digital media market, PwC estimates the sector will top US$1.2 billion by 2019, as it pivots away from TV.

Across the platform PopJam has a millions-strong monthly audience, and now boasts more than 200 official channels from brands including Disney, Nintendo, Hasbro, Dreamworks and Lonely Planet.

On average, a PopJammer spends 45 minutes a day on the platform, interacting with brands, content and other kids in the PopJam community.

The platform provides kids with digital creative tools so they can create their own artwork, stories and characters, as well as engaguing with games, watching curated videos and participating in quizzes, puzzles and challenges.

The rapidly growing trend of YouTubers adopting PopJam as their platform for younger fans also continues, with more than 40 million kids now active subscribers.

“The tyranny of distance is no longer the case for Aussie kids who will now be able to engage with a global community of PopJammers and keep up to date with the latest global kids trends,” Melissa Roberts TotallyAwesome A/ NZ Country director said.

“The launch of PopJam in Australia also enables brands and Influencers alike to create lasting conversations with their audience via a digitally engaging and safe environment.”

PopJam is available at, on iTunes and Google Play.
