The winners of the International Licensing Awards have been unveiled, with video-game hit Fortnite bagging five wins.

The game was named Best App/Video Game Brand of the Year and also took out the inaugural Newcomer Award. Licensees scored big with the Fortnite licence, with Spirit Halloween for Fortnite costumes, Jazwares for a Fortnite pinata and Hasbro for Fortnite Monopoly all taking home awards.

The 2019 edition of the awards was the first time all submissions and judging took place online, with 150 executives in 18 countries judging over 600 entries.

Licensing International president, Maura Regan, said the 2019 awards reflect the rising international nature of the industry.

"2018 was an incredible year for our industry, which is reflected in this slate of winners and honorees.

"It’s been particularly satisfying to see the increasingly international nature of the licensing business reflected throughout the entire awards process.

"Congratulations to the winners, who showcase the creativity and innovation that makes our global industry tick," she said.
