Channel Nine has begun production on its new family entertainment show, Lego Masters.

The show – which invites eight teams of keen Lego builders to face challenges which test their design, engineering and building skills, storytelling abilities and quick thinking skills – will be hosted by Hamish Blake and Australia's only Lego certified professional, Ryan 'The Brickman' McNaught.

Director of television for Nine, Michael Healy, said that Lego Masters will reshape family television.

We are very excited about Lego Masters. It will redefine family entertainment in 2019 because there’s no greater brand that resonates more with families than Lego.”

Lego Masters offers the competitors $100,000 in prize money, a Lego trophy and bragging rights if they win the competition.

The show is produced by Endemol Shine Australia who are behind other family entertainment shows such as Australian Ninja Warrior, Married at First Sight and MasterChef.
