Lego ANZ and Alquemie Group have announced that they will open a new Lego Certified Store in Canberra.
The 250sqm store will be located at Canberra Centre and will feature the signature elements that the Lego Certified stores have grown to be known for.
The new store will house a large, wall mounted mosaic, a Pick-a-Brick wall, a Build a Minifigure Tower and a Digital Box, which brings any Lego boxed set to life in 3D.
The store will also feature a world-first 3D model of a local landmark, built by Ryan 'The Brickman' McNaught - the southern hemisphere's only Lego Certified Professional.
Alquemie Group executive chairman Richard Facioni welcomed the opening of the Canberra store.
"With one of the most loyal and growing communities of brick fans in the country, Canberra has been on our radar for some time as an ideal venue for a new Lego Certified Store.
"We look forward to proudly unveiling an inspiring new retail experience for Canberra which showcases the creative potential of the world-famous Lego brick," he said.
The news comes as Lego localises its Vidiyo launch, recruiting Indigenous rapper Baker Boy and INXS to create a new dance on the platform.
The music video, which premiered yesterday, sees Baker Boy and The Lego Group’s minifigure, Universal Music Group’s newly signed artist L.L.A.M.A (Love, Laughter And Music Always), dance their way across Sydney, visiting the Sydney Opera House and other landmarks along the way, dancing to INXS’s 'New Sensation'.
The music video comes to a peak in the final chorus of New Sensation with two of the original band members from INXS making a special guest appearance alongside the rapper and DJ L.L.A.M.A.
L.L.A.M.A is the first Lego minifigure signed to a record label and the first artist to release a song via Vidiyo.
The official opening date of the Canberra Lego Certified Store is yet to be announced.
