Hasbro's Monopoly has released its first-ever Movember-themed board game, to help raise $150,000 for men's health.
The partnership has seen the classic game undergo a makeover, with players able to purchase barber shops, moustaches and men’s health programs in place of the traditional stations, utilities, and hotels.
The locations on the board have also been reimagined to feature iconic Australian places to capture Movember’s story, including The Gypsy Bar in Melbourne where Travis Garone and fellow co-founder Luke Slattery first conceived the idea of Movember.
Hasbro Pacific director of consumer products Sarah Young said that the business is excited to be raising money for Movember.
"Monopoly is delighted to announce it’s first-ever boardgame with Movember and we’re thrilled to be supporting its commitment to help change the face of Australian men’s health.
"The Movember Edition Monopoly game is a fun and exciting way to bring family and friends together and allow everyone, even those who can’t grow a ‘mo’ to get behind a great cause, start important conversations about men’s health and together raise $150,000," she said.
In addition to releasing the limited-edition game, Monopoly and Movember have partnered with five street artists to give Mr Monopoly's moustache a ‘mo-lift.’
Australian artists Tom Gerrard, Callum Preston, HA-HA (Regan Tamanuiaka), Makatron (Mika Maka) and Doyle (Adrian Doyle) will make over Mr Monopoly, with their original artworks going up for auction to raise further funds for the organisation.
Movember co-founder and global brand and creative director, Travis Garone has also created a one-off artwork for auction.
"I’m excited and honoured to have my art hanging alongside the work of such a talented crew of the country’s top street artists," Garone said.
"These guys have gone above and beyond in creating these pieces for Movember, and they really do represent the chance to own a piece of Australian history," he said.
The Movember Edition Monopoly game is part of the brand's 85th anniversary celebrations.
The custom game was created by Winning Moves.
It is available exclusively at Big W for $69.99, with $5 from every purchase going to Movember.
