Toy business, Funrise, has signed a global, multi-year licensing deal with construction brand Caterpillar (Cat), to produce, distribute and market a line of toys based on the Cat machines.
The toy line is expected to include machines across a wide range of styles including motorised, light and sounds, RC and free-wheeling toys in different scales, as well as metal Cat machines for ages three and up.
The Funrise line will focus on the mass-market, but the business will partner with Perth-based, high-end Cat diecast distributor, Custom Originals to distribute the range into Cat dealerships.
Funrise senior VP of global brand marketing, Randy Shoemaker, said that the business is thrilled to bring a Cat toy line to the world.
"Caterpillar is a widely recognised and trusted brand, and we are thrilled to create toys that bring the dynamic and larger-than-life construction world of Caterpillar to kids and families around the world."
Cat global licensing manager, Kenny Beaupre said that Cat is excited to introduce new ideas to the toy line.
"For over 90 years, Cat products and services have been helping customers build a better world.
"In a similar way, Cat toys are used by boys and girls around the globe to build whatever their imaginations dream. Toys are educational, instructive and nurture creativity.
"Together with Funrise, we look forward to bringing increased innovation to the Cat toy line."
