Pop-culture toy business, Funko, has partnered with Sterling Publishing to release a children's book series.
The collection will focus on Funko's own IP, Wetmore Forest, and will tell the stories of characters Bugsy Wingnut, Butterhorn, Snuggletooth and Tumblebee among others.
Senior vice president, global sales at Funko, Johanna Gepford, said that Funko is excited to expand the reach of the Wetmore Forest IP.
"We’re excited to expand the storylines of our beloved Wetmore family through a book series available at the bookseller with the largest number of retail outlets in the United States.
"Children will be delighted to follow the adventures of characters created by the same creative geniuses that produce highly sought-after Funko products," she said.
Funko and Sterling Publishing will showcase the books at London Book Fair and Bologna Children’s Book Fair, before the release.
The book series will be available online and in Barnes & Noble stores in the US from June. Accompanying merchandise will also be released to support the book collection.
