Tourists will have another reason to visit Bali, with Turner Asia-Pacific penning a licensing deal with The Maj Group to bring a Cartoon Network theme park to life.
The Cartoon Network Entertainment Park will host Bali's biggest water park and indoor entertainment centre. The park will be emblazoned with Cartoon Network characters and will feature live performances from Ben 10, The Powerpuff Girls and characters from Adventure Time.
“We are proud to be Turner’s partner of choice [for] bringing the Cartoon Network experience to Bali and game-changing the entertainment industry landscape in Indonesia,” Gita Wirjawan, chairman, Maj Group said.
The park will be Indonesia's first internationally-branded theme park.
“The new park will enhance the development of The Maj Nusa Dua complex which will offer a full suite of leading hospitality and entertainment choices for the whole family. Furthermore, it will further cement Bali as the premier family destination in Asia and one of the world’s top tourist locations,” Wirjawan said.
The park is slated to open in 2020.
The announcement comes after Turner announced the Cartoon Network Wave – a themed cruise ship – in January.
