Vikram Sharma, former director of retail and licensing at Disney in Singapore and Malaysia, has been appointed Vice President of Cartoon Network Enterprises (CNE) in the regional licensing and merchandising division.
Commencing his role across the Asia Pacific region, Sharma will advance sales across branded toys, apparel, home entertainment and live events, under some of CNE's most recognisable brands – Ben 10, Adventure Time, Powerpuff Girls and Rick and Morty among others.
Sharma will also manage the IP Tuzki, the animated bunny emoticon of choice in China.
“We are incredibly pleased to have attracted someone with his track record and have high hopes that fans of our amazing IP and franchises will have products that match their passion,” Ricky Ow, President of Turner Asia Pacific said.
Sharma will have his work cut out for him though, with the Cartoon Network cruise ship setting sail in September this year from Singapore. The Cartoon Network Wave is a partnership between Singapore-based cruise management company Oceanic Group, with Jake the Dog (from Adventure Time) splashed across the bow of the ship.
