Bluey lovers are in for a surprise as three books from the popular preschool series will be available in Australian retailers before Christmas 2019, according to a publication agreement inked by BBC Studios and Penguin Random House Australia. Two storybooks and one activity book will be part of the selection.

Bluey chronicles the exploits of a lovable, never-ending six-year-old Blue Heeler dog who enjoys playing and turns routine activities into remarkable experiences.

Since debuting on ABC KIDS in October 2018, Bluey has been an enormous success, gaining millions of devoted followers and holding the prestigious title of the most viewed show on ABC iView. The two produced volumes peaked at the top and constantly remained in the top 5 of the iTunes Kids Chart, which is also dominated.

Nicole Chungue, Licensing Manager for BBC Studios ANZ, stated that Bluey is an excellent program, promoting imagination and providing an authentic expression of young marriage. They are thrilled with its popularity and grateful to bring Bluey to life by collaborating with Penguin Random House on the lovely tale and activity books off-screen.

Charlie Aspinwall, Ludo Studio, Executive Producer, said they had been inundated with demands for books and toys since the program premiered. They are delighted that parents and kids can read and watch more beautiful Bluey stories.

According to Holly Toohey, Head of Audio, Brands, and Partnerships, Penguin Random House is proud to be a member of the Bluey family. Everyone in the firm has fallen madly in love with Bluey, Bandit, Bingo, and Chilli. It is an honor to work with outstanding domestic material. They can not wait to translate the program’s humor, heart, and soothing family life into various books.

Bluey was produced by the Australian Broadcasting Organization’s Ludo Studio. BBC Studios and Screen Australia also contributed a significant production commitment, as Screen Queensland offered support for its development and production.

Bluey was developed, scripted, directed, and produced entirely in-house at Brisbane, Queensland, Australia’s Ludo Studio, an animation studio that has won many Emmy awards.
