BBC Studios Australia and New Zealand (ANZ), has appointed a new head of content sales and co-production.
Deb Tod will now serve in the role and will be responsible for the strategic and team leadership of BBC Studios' content sales and co-productions in ANZ. She will be responsible for ensuring optimum impact of BBC Studios' content across both broadcast and digital channels, as well as contributing to global sales agreements and partnerships on behalf of ANZ.
Managing director of BBC Studios ANZ, Jon Penn, said that Tod possess a wealth of experience and relationships within the industry and will bring these skills to the new role.
“Deb is a highly experienced and effective sales leader with strong relationships in the industry.
“I’m delighted that she will be bringing her passion and knowledge for BBC Studios’ content to the role, combined with her proven ability to think laterally and deliver results,” he said.
Tod's appointment rounds out some other recent changes at BBC, with television format sales coming under the director of production, Kylie Washington, and development of customer relationships and business opportunities now under the COO, Fiona Lang, who leads the newly formed Business Development division.
Tod said that she is honoured to represent the BBC portfolio and is excited to bring content to Australia and New Zealand.
“It’s an incredible privilege to represent such an iconic catalogue, working together with the team to bring bold and creative British content to our valued partners across Australia and New Zealand.”
Tod has been acting in the role since the beginning of the year and takes over from Irene Read, former director of content sales, who retired in January.
