Sara Acton has given small readers a reminder that being big isn’t everything.
Being little is no fun, however, especially if you are an elephant called Finlay. Claude is an elephant too, but very grown up.
Unlike Claude, Finlay can’t trumpet, or shower, or wiggle or stomp. He can get lost though, which is what often happens when everyone else is bigger than you.
It is then that Finlay discovers that with smallness comes a floatiness that can land him safely on Claude’s trunk.
Just as well too, for when the rain pours, it is Claude who is soaked and Finlay who is sheltered underneath him. Sometimes being small is better.
